He serves as the Director of the Research and Publishing Centre for World Literature and Contemporary Chinese Original Literature at Nanjing Normal University. He Ping’s literary criticism and research have been published in many outlets, including Literary Review文学评论, Southern Cultural Forum南方文坛, Modern Chinese Literature Studies中国现代文学研究丛刊, Wenyi Zhengming文艺争鸣, Social Science in China 中国社会科学文摘, Contemporary Writers Review当代作家评论, Zhongshan 钟山, and Shanghai Literature 上海文学. This essay, originally published in Wenyi Zhengming (文艺争鸣) 2018(10), was included in his collection entitled The Return of Criticism 批评的返场, which was awarded the Lu Xun Literary Prize in 2022.
