Description
Summary:To address the issues of poor arc erosion resistance and short electrical life of Ag-based electrical contact materials, the surface of carbon fibers was modified by chemical copper plating, and then Ag-based electrical contact materials were prepared by using powder metallurgy technology. The microscopic morphology of the carbon fiber surface and the surface of the Ag-based electrical contact material was characterized by scanning electron microscopy; the overall mass loss was measured and the arc erosion morphology was characterized by arc erosion testing of the Ag-based electrical contact material through the electrical performance simulation open-break system. The results show that the surface modification of carbon fibers can effectively improve the wettability with Ag substrate; and that the addition of carbon fibers can effectively improve the arc erosion resistance of AgSnO2 electrical contact materials compared with AgSnO2 electrical contact materials without carbon fibers.
