| Summary: | The aim of this study was to examine the psychometricproperties of the Turkish version of Family Adaptability and Cohesion Scale IV (FACESIV) Questionnaire Package, and also to achieve a valid and reliable assessment toolfor the further investigations of the Circumplex Model of Marital and Family Systemsin Turkish culture. A total of 1613 (65.4% female, 34.6% male) university studentsagreed to participate in the study. The construct validity of the FACES IV was examinedwith confirmatory factor analysis. Also, the convergent validity, criterion-relatedvalidity, internal reliability, and test-retest reliability analyses were examinedwithin the scope of validity and reliability studies. Findings indicate that Turkishform of FACES IV can be used as a valid and reliable scale with sufficient psychometricproperties to evaluate the family cohesion, family adaptability, family communication,family satisfaction, and the family functioning as a whole in Turkish culture. |
