| Summary: | Energy storage system (ESS) is important to solve the problem of large-scale renewable energy integration. However, in addition to its high investment cost, operation and maintenance loss, the technical and economic parameters of ESS’s vary significantly between different types. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the optimal configuration and conduct economic analysis of different types of ESS’s. In this paper, a hybrid configuration optimization method for capacity-based and power-based ESS’s in wind and solar power plants is proposed to maximize the net benefit of the ESS in its full life cycle. Based on the actual operation data of wind and solar power plants in Zhangjiakou and the actual parameters of three mainstream ESS’s, the influence of different sensitivity factors on the selection and capacity of ESS is analyzed. The results show that the economic performance of capacity-based ESS is more sensitive to its price changes while the liquid flow batteries combined with ultracapacitors demonstrate the best economics. |
