description A study of palaeo-Hispanic writings and supporting media of pre-Latin epigraphs in the Iberian Peninsula in the 1st millennium BCE provides a means of gauging the influence of exogenous epigraphs on the techniques used by Iberians and Celtiberians. While palaeo-Hispanic writings and epigraphs are rooted in Phoenician and Greek practices, the Roman presence had a considerable impact on the choice of media: the availability of metals and the techniques spread by Italian engravers account for the chief mutations, which were essentially formal.
