| Summary: | Freshwater ecosystems, such as rivers, play several functions in the earth system, including preserving the biosphere, the climate, and human life. The accessibility of renewable and sustainable water resources is essential for human water security; this can only be achieved sustainably by concrete measures that enhance the quantity, quality, and timing of river materials. The quality of a river affects the diversity, evenness, and richness parameters of its macroinvertebrate population. The used methodology involved integrating ecological studies with the BMWP-ASPT bioassessment. The findings showed that in three stations of Amprong River displayed low biodiversity, a depressed community structure, and reduced species richness indices, alongside polluted or negatively impacted water quality according to ASPT, while the Lincoln index suggested a favorable environmental quality interpretation. A genuine commitment is required from all sectors to collaborate in achieving the success of sustainable development goals (SDGs), beginning with preserving sustainability and river quality while eliminating pollutants that contaminate waterways. |
