| Summary: | We reported a case of a 65-year-old man presenting with sore throat and dysphagia after a trivial cold. Endoscopic revealed a nodular and rough mass on the base of the tongue. CT and MRI examinations suggested that the mass was likely malignant. Final pathology revealed clear cell carcinoma originating from minor salivary glands with no evidence of lymph node metastasis. Clear cell carcinoma of the base of the tongue was a rare malignancy. Imaging and pathological examinations were crucial for diagnosis and and ruling out other primary cancers was essential. |
