description The FKM strength evaluation method was explained and discussed in detail. The detailed steps of using local stress method to evaluate the static and fatigue strength of non-welded components were introduced, which started from the material parameters of the standard specimen, carried out comprehensive correction calculation according to different load, process, design, material, safety factor and other factors, then obtained the critical static strength limit and critical fatigue strength limit of the component, and finally evaluated the safety of the structure through the utilization index. A vehicle gearbox strength was evaluated by using FEA and the FKM guideline together, and results showed that the static and fatigue strength degree of utilization were in line with requirements, which proved that it could be safely served.
