Logistic regression analysis is used to predict the probability of a fatal crash based on various factors, including crash severity and potential causal relationships. The model examines the association between categorical variables and the odds of a fatal versus non-fatal crash, explicitly focusing on medium-duty freight truck involvement. The findings indicate that non-freight vehicle drivers experience 1.215 times higher odds of fatality compared to freight vehicle drivers. Additionally, passengers in truck crashes, including those involving medium-duty trucks, face an elevated risk of severe injuries. This study provides crucial insights into the factors influencing crash outcomes in accidents involving medium-duty freight trucks, necessitating targeted safety interventions. |
