description Low efficiency of nitrogen (N) fertilization cause high production costs and environmental pollutionso the development of strategies such as zeolites application may help to reduce N losses in production systems. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of natural causes zeolite (clinoptilolite) application in nitrogen recovery and corn yield (Zea Mays L.), by mineral addition (15, 25 and 35 kg/ha) in nitrogen doses (100 kg ha-1) from urea; It was using a randomized complete block experimental design with four replicates. Zeolite contribution was significant (P<0.05) in crop yield, plant height and stem diameter. Nitrogen use efficiency indicators reported increases by zeolite application, improving nutrient use and economic effectiveness of urea. Soil analysis at end of the crop cycle showed the application of zeolite favored the adsorption of phosphorus, magnesium and potassium, improved the CIC and impacted the soil pH value. Although Nitrogen recovery efficiency did not exceed 60%, it was observed difference in N recovery between treatments and between phenological stages of the crop, which is relevant for the efficient nutritional management.
