| Summary: | The Yangtze River Delta (YRD), a major economic hub in China, faces challenges in balancing water resources, economic growth, and ecological sustainability. This study evaluates the coupling coordination of these systems in the YRD from 2016 to 2023 using a coupling coordination model and a center of gravity evolution model. Development indices across water, economic, and ecological dimensions were quantified through an entropy-weighted indicator system. The results show an overall improvement in coordination, with Jiangsu achieving the highest levels, while Shanghai and Anhui require further improvement. This study offers insights for policymakers to address regional disparities and promote sustainable development through customized management strategies. |
