Description
Summary:Pleomorphic adenoma (PA) is an infrequent benign tumor that predominantly arises in the major salivary glands. When it affects the minor salivary glands, it most often occurs in the hard and soft palate, with less frequent occurrences in the upper lip. Typically, PAs are classified as slow-growing, benign lesions. However, it can undergo malignant transformation with a tendency to relapse. In this article, we presented the treatment and 1-year follow-up of a 40-year-old female patient with PA in the upper lip. Histopathologically, the lesion was consisting of randomly distributed ductal and myoepithelial cells that are primarily uniform and plasmacytoid. At the 1-year postoperative follow-up, the wound healing was excellent, with minimal scarring, and also there was no sign of recurrence.
