description Undiagnosed condylar fracture in children at the time of trauma could end up in a condition that causes fusion of mandibular condyle with skull base, known as temporomandibular joint (TMJ) ankylosis which results in restricted mouth opening and patient has problem in chewing, speech and has facial asymmetry due to chin deviation in unilateral cases. Surgical intervention is the treatment of choice for such patients, followed by aggressive postoperative mouth-opening exercises. In Cases with significant chin deviation, the treatment of choice is interposition arthroplasty with costochondral graft (CCG) to provide growth catch-up. Buccal fat pad (BFP) is interposed between the ramal stump and skull base to prevent recurrence. Here we are presenting a case series of three pediatric post-traumatic unilateral TMJ ankylosis patients who were successfully managed. The motive behind this article is to develop awareness about the consequences of undiagnosed pediatric condylar fractures, which could lead to the troublesome condition TMJ ankylosis, which severely affects quality of life and creates psychological anguish in children.
