| Summary: | This paper develops the conceptual and methodological bases of an ongoing research on the manifestations of daily conflicts, interpersonal violence, and on the ways of resolving conflicts in Western Andalusia, during the period between the Sixteenth and the Eighteenth centuries. Because conflicts are part of daily life, it is necessary to reinterpret them from this perspective. This work is thus not limited to study of the mere criminality, but it is also dedicated to the study of conflicts recorded in the massive files of trials and criminal lawsuits preserved in local archives. We aim to analyze the contexts and manifestations of conflicts and violence in a world deeply transformed by the colonial fact. |
