| Summary: | The straight rotation relation between God and the Creation is one of the arguments that Ibn-Arabi pursues in his ontology. This new view, which runs counter to Plotinus's theory of emanation, should be considered an alternative to the theory of emanation, which was largely accepted in the philosophical currents before Ibn-Arabi. Ibn-Arabi’s theory of straight rotation, which has its logical bases in the theories of the manifestation of divine names and the unity of existence, has ultimately provided Mohiuddin with the theoretical possibility to criticize the philosophers’ rule of “Al-Wahid” (that is the strongest argumentation offered in support of the emanation theory) and to understand it in a new sense. It also emphasizes the status of the material and physical world, which was weakened as a result of acceptance of the theory of emanation and, after passing through several mediators, was in the furthest place from the God, and reaffirms its importance. In this paper, after describing Ibn-Arabi’s theory of straight rotation, we are going to show its differences with the emanation theory and then recall Ibn-Arabi’s new interpretation of the rule of “Al-Wahid”. |
