| Summary: | Aim: The aim of the research is to develop the Perception Scale for the Future of Nursing to be used to determine the perception of the future of nursing.
Method: This methodological study was carried out between April and May 2023 with 401 health professionals using the snowball sampling method. The data were collected online using the Personal Information Form and the Draft Scale for the Future of Nursing, which were prepared by the researchers. Descriptive data analysis, Cronbach Alpha reliability analysis, explanatory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were used in the analysis of the data.
Results: The mean age of the participants was 27.53 (SD=8.18) years, 71.8% were female, 67.8% had a bachelor's degree, 48.9% were nurses, 34.7% had 1-5 years of professional experience. The draft scale, which consisted of 63 items, decreased to 55 items as a result of the validity of the scope and to 31 items as a result of psychometric analysis. In the study, AFA (201) was applied with 50% of the data and CFA (200) was applied with the remaining 50%. A total of 24 items were excluded from the analysis during the AFA. The two-factor factor structure, in which the total variance was 50.6%, was confirmed by CFA. It was determined that the Cronbach Alpha coefficient of the scale was 0.94, the sub-dimension of Professional Value Perception was 0.94 and the sub-dimension of Professional Change and Development Perception was 0.93.
Conclusion: It is of 5 Likert type and consists of a total of 31 items; it has been concluded that the Perception Scale for the Future of Nursing, which has two sub-dimensions Professional Value Perception, Professional Change and Development Perception, is valid and reliable. |
