Description
Summary:The deployment of hierarchical heterogeneous cellular network(HCN)using overlapping small cells is identified as one of the major components in solving future cellular capacity and energy efficiency problems. An enhanced networking scheme for future HCN was proposed, accomplished by adopting the phantom cell concept that splits the C-plane and U-plane. The goal is to achieve higher capacity using higher frequency bands over a range of deployment scenarios including mobility, network density, traffic handling and network complexity. The implementation related techniques and further extension of the scheme were also provided.
