Description
Summary:A considerable amount of existing literature highlights the significance of environmental factors, but limited research has examined the role of green financing in these considerations. The primary aim of this research is to test the relationships between green finance and environmental quality using panel fixed effects modelling and pairwise granger causality test based on data from 2014 to 2019 in 25 leading countries in green finance. We also considered other variables such as energy consumption, economic growth and trade openness and their relationships to environmental quality. Our model confirms positive relationships between green finance, trade openness and environmental quality. However, economic growth and energy consumption had negative relationships with environmental quality. We suggest that expanding green finance would improve green infrastructure and environmental quality whilst accelerating the transition to the post-carbon age.
