description Around the design requirement of traction system with multi current system, lightweight, energy saving and consumption reducing for 400 km/h high-speed EMU, the design principle of traction system was expounded. The technical direction and design features of key components such as traction auxiliary converter and permanent magnet motor were discussed. The test and verification of traction system and key components were introduced. The test results showed that the performance of the traction system and its key components was good, which met the requirements of all indexes of EMU traction system.
