description Flinders Legal Advice Clinic is a small fledgling University student staffed legal service based in the southern suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia. Recognising that clinical education learning and teaching is multi-layered, the Flinders Legal Advice Clinic was established in 2011, drawing on best practice models from other Australian student legal clinics. An Appreciative Inquiry process was used to evaluate the Clinic in 2013, and this identified a distinctive learning opportunity emerging within the strong relationships between supervising solicitors. This paper reports on the findings concerning the pedagogic value in these supervisor relationships as highlighted by the Appreciative Inquiry process. It considers how recognising the nature, significance and value of the interactions and relationships between law supervisors in a student legal clinic can be instrumental in creating unique occasions for learning from practice.
