Description
Summary:After the underlying problems in the implementati-on of virtual classes in the Bachelor's Degree in Teaching English and the scattered academic per-formance in said modality, the objective of the pre-sent study is to investigate the possible association between the teacher profile accomplished in his praxis and the academic performance to contribute to students' training. The sample consisted of 4 teachers and 115 students (67 women and 48 men with 17.62 years of aged-average). A quantitative approach was made, with an associative and cross-sectional design, finding the following results: the-re is a positive association between the variables teacher profile and academic performance, which depends on the implementation of digital and pedagogical competencies, design of techno-pedagogical content, and use of mediation strategies in virtual environments for desirable academic performance. These findings indicate the prevailing need for teachers to know, develop and implement the attributes that foster the ideal teaching profile for the modality in question.
