Description
Summary:Hyper immunoglobulin E syndrome (HIES) is a rare primary immunodeficiency disorder characterised by recurrent infections and elevated serum immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels. Chronic rhinosinusitis is a common manifestation of the disease. Herein, we report the case of a 12-year-old girl with HIES and STAT3 mutations who presented with nasal obstruction and discharge. Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed pansinusitis. The patient underwent endoscopic sinus surgery. Postoperatively, the patient showed substantial improvement in symptoms. Histopathological examination confirmed the presence of Chronic rhinosinusitis without fungal elements. Early recognition and surgical intervention are considered strategies for managing HIES-associated Chronic rhinosinusitis and improving patient outcomes.
