In Finland, archivists and records managers form one professional group that shares a common education. The profession has faced enormous changes over the last decades. Digitalization has created new competence requirements, and changes in legislation have affected the concepts in the field. Few studies focusing on the profession have been conducted in Finland. This study examined the current state of the profession by analyzing the titles and the duties of professionals presented in job advertisements. In the analysis process, Atlas.ti software was used. The results of the study show that titles not referring to recordkeeping are used, as well as use of information management terminology. Archival responsibilities and duties in digital recordkeeping were emphasized. A title in the job advertisement may indicate the duties of the job. Definitions of concepts in the field are wavering and partly outdated. Terminology in practical work environments seems to have partly diverged from it.
