description [Objective] In the context of the current urban rail transit towards intelligent,green and low-carbon development, upgrading the traction power supply system, the "heart" of urban rail transit, is of crucial importance for realizing the green and smart development of urban rail transit. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on the future development path of the traction power supply system so as to promote its technological innovation and industrial upgrading. [Method] The cutting-edge technologies and innovative achievements of typical foreign countries, such as Germany, Japan and France in optimizing the configuration of rail transit traction power supply system and utilizing new energy and digital informatization are summarized. The innovative development path of urban rail transit traction power supply system in China is explored from three dimensions, namely promoting the application of innovative achievements, increasing the application of new energy, and establishing an intelligent management platform. [Result & Conclusion] The proposed innovative development path for urban rail transit traction power supply system can promote the upgrading of traction power supply system and further contribute to the green and intelligent development of urban rail transit.
