Summary:In order to calculate the contact stiffness of cycloid-pin gear more accurately and guide its practical application, a method for calculating the contact stiffness of cycloid-pin gear based on Monte Carlo was proposed. In this method, the tooth profile functions of cycloid gear before and after the cycloid gear profile modification are established, and the influence of gear profile modification on the contact stiffness of cycloid gear is investigated. Taking RV-40E reducer of industrial robot as an example, the calculation example shows that the contact stiffness of cycloid gear will be changed if the gear tooth profile is modified for cycloid gear, and the contact stiffness of the cycloid-pin gear wheel will first decrease, then increase and then decrease with the increase of the amount of modification.
