description Diverse studies conducted in the field of conflict management have centered on modern music with little attention to the trado[1]musicological dimension to conflict management as it affects infrastructural planning. This study examined the role of traditional music in conflict management on the performance in 'Ajagbo' a traditional music as it affects infrastructure planning among the Akoko people of South-western Nigeria. It examined the trado-musical approach to managing conflict amongthe Akoko people of Nigeria and reviewed its relevance within the annual yam festival, the opportunities and challenges. The study also analysed the issues of musical style, context, and content, dressing, timing, and the selection of the drum. Pacifism theory was used to advance the argument in favour of peaceful conflict resolution strategies. This empirical study used purposive sampling technique in collecting relevant qualitative data through in[1]depth interviews and focus group discussions. The study revealed that Ajagbo music has wide-spread benefits in resolving conflicts in Akokoland, as the contents of the music enabled the audience to appreciate the need for peaceful reconciliation. Mass emigration of youths and introduction of modern musical instruments that is shifting people' attention from the contents of the music are the main challenges of Ajagbo music. The study concluded that Ajagbo music is very potent in conflict management in Akokoland. Strategies were proposed to address identified challenges on the therapeutic effects of Ajagbo music in conflict management in Akokoland.
