description In addition to his creative works, Miquel Llor is the author of some valuable translations published in the thirties by Edicions Proa. The first one among these translations was Les Caves du Vatican by André Gide. This article offers an approach to the translation of Llor as well as his interest in the French writer. The location of the manuscript of Les Caves del Vaticà allowed us to compare this unpublished version with that given by Proa and to comment on several textual elements vis-à-vis the French original. Finally, we give some examples illustrating the reception of Gide’s title in the Catalan literary field.
