The condensation of 2-pentenylfuran with various aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes, when catalysed by cation-exchange resins, leads selectively to the corresponding di(2-pentenylfuryl)-alkyl-and di(2-pentenylfuryl)-aryl-methanes.
