Thanks to this wealth of information, it is possible to follow the legal careers of individuals regularly involved in criminal matters, which may even require the Duke of Burgundy’ pardon. The purpose of this article is to follow the trajectories of several men in the second half of the 15th century, whose detailed examination makes it possible to establish links between the various cases in which they were involved. The rare convictions against them also raise questions about their origins, as the examination of the sources shows that they belong to or are linked for the most part to the ruling elites. Finally, the density of the preserved sources shows that the problems of these individuals with the justice system do not always have a lasting effect on their honorific capital. |
