| description | Three year field trials (2002-2005) were carried out to determine the effect of new genotype winter pea L4 seed inoculation and nitrogen top-dressing on number and nodule dry weight g/plant of pea root and also on the yield of winter pea and wheat cv. Sana mixture. Just before sowing, pea seeds were inoculated with of Rhizobium leguminosarum bv. viciae 1001 from the collection of the Department of Microbiology at the Faculty of Agriculture University of Zagreb. The highest total nodule number on pea root (39 nodule/plant) was determined on the inoculated variant 2 as well as nodule dry weight (0.194 g/plant). Dry matter yields of pea were ranging from 2.36 t ha-1 (control) up to 3.50 t ha-1 (inoculation). Dry matter yields of wheat were ranging from 5.63 t ha-1 (control) up to 7.31 t ha-1 (nitrogen top-dressing). Total dry matter yields were ranging from 7.99 t ha-1 (control) up to 10.69 t ha-1 (nitrogen top-dressing). |
