Description
Summary:This article presents a comprehensive analysis of the image position formed by a point object through a flat refracting surface. While traditional textbooks often restrict their discussions to the paraxial approximation, applicable only in limited scenarios, this work expands the scope to address more realistic conditions with large angles of incidence. By leveraging elementary mathematics, differential calculus, geometric principles, and the law of refraction, three distinct proofs of the vertical and horizontal position of the conjugated image are provided. This study aims to bridge the identified gap in educational resources and promote a deeper exploration of refraction phenomena in didactic contexts.
