Description
Summary:The paper analyses the effectiveness of internal communication in public companies in Croatia and its impact on employee satisfaction after market changes. Research on internal communication and its effects on employee satisfaction was conducted with a sample of 1,342 respondents from three large public companies (these companies employ more than 23% of the total workforce belonging to large public companies in Croatia). The results obtained from a hierarchical regression analysis indicate that satisfaction with internal communication (44.3%) is more significantly related to overall job satisfaction than sociodemographic characteristics (total length of service in the company, employment type, managerial position in the company, sex, age group and highest level of education) (5.2%). In conclusion, when employees in public companies in Croatia receive clear information about their organization’s goals, expectations, results, and progress, they feel informed and engaged, which positively influences their job satisfaction.
