| Summary: | Much research had been done in Western country about
Cervical Cancer. From those there are some risk factors been identified and their role to cervical cancer.
Indonesia is located in Asia whereas the incidence of cervical
cancer is expected to be high especially advanced stage, its means
that knowledge about cancer specifically cervical cancer should be
better.
This aim this research is to find survival rate and evaluate
prognostic factors such as histopathologic and age of cervical cancer patients that under-treatment at "Dharmais" cancer hospital,
Jakarta.
This is a retrospective cohort research, based on medical report
of the patient that under-treatment in Dharmais between 1993/4-
1997. About 710 cases registered but only 17 cases could be followed up for 2 years. Squamous cell carcinoma 128 cases (73.12%)
and adenocarcinoma (included adenosquamous carcinoma) 14
cases (8%), 33 cases not informed.
From 175 cases; adenocarcinoma in young age of stage I and
recurrent was high respectively not significantly different (p=0.32
and p=0.396). The 2 years survival of early stage (IA-IIA) 85.2%,
advanced stage (IIB-IV) 50.2% and recurrent 36.7% (p=0.001). In
young age (< 40 years) and histologic with glandular figures have
2 years survival better than old patient and squamous carcinomа. |
