Abstract: Over the past two decades, China has made remarkable strides in clinical research on cerebrovascular disease, gradually shifting from relying on foreign research achievements to an international research model led by Chinese researchers. The CHANCE study marks the starting point of this progress, and with the introduction of other landmark studies, China has increasingly gained prominence in the global cerebrovascular disease research community. A series of key Chinese clinical studies have directly revised both national and international cerebrovascular disease guidelines. This article reviews the important clinical studies on ischemic cerebrovascular disease in China over the past two decades, explores the evidence-based basis for changing guidelines, and discusses future research directions, aiming to further advance the high-quality development of clinical research on ischemic cerebrovascular disease in China. |
