Summary:The article deals with the modern political processes through a religious factor, which in some cases may influence the radicalization of views of some group of citizens and the intensification of terrorist activity. The authors analyze various theoretical approaches to the concepts of terrorism, patriotism, political and religious processes within the contemporary political science discourse. The authors also examine new approaches to understanding of international terrorism, particularly its negative factors, which are now increasingly attracting the attention of researchers and policy makers.
