Description
Summary:This work shows a procedure through which it is possible to reduce the complexity of design, implementation, and tuning of non-conventional controllers for solar tracking systems. This is achieved by programming an STM32F4-NUCLEO board using a high-level language. This is made possible through the use of embedded software (Waijung toolbox) that enables access to the functions and blocks of Matlab-Simulink for the automatic generation and download of C code into STM32F4 microcontrollers. Additionally, the resulting configuration allows the processing resources of a computer to be easily and practically utilized, facilitating a Hardware-in-the-Loop scheme. As a result, the computer can be used as a monitoring and configuration interface, as well as a server for database storage. To validate the proposal, the development procedure and performance tests conducted with an existing solar tracker are presented.
