Summary:The phenomenon of cracking in different degree occurs on gearbox shell of a light truck in the life-span.The finite element modal analysis and experiment modal analysis of a light truck powertrain are carried out.By analyzing and comparing the results,it is proved that both are effective and correct.The sensitive parts of vibration and the reason of cracking about gearbox shell are analyzed,a theoretical basis for the structural dynamics modification is provided.
