| Summary: | This study aims to analyze the polyphonic narrative in Ouragan by Laurent Gaudé, a novel published in 2010. The narrative, broken down into narrative fragments, makes hear, alongside the voice of the narrator, the novelist's spokesperson, those of several characters. The misfortune, generated by internal disasters, compensates for the natural disaster with multiple sides. Speaking in the first person, the narrator characters pour out and launch a cry of distress. The plurality of voices, along with the play of focus and particular narrative techniques, removes the boundaries between reality and fiction and creates an impression of narrative chaos in the image of the chaos caused by the disaster. The intervention of the main narrator ensures that the story is cohesive and makes it a mirror of the complexity of human life. |
