| description | Since the impeachment of 2016, Brazil has experienced a series of setbacks in public social policy, with consequences for people’s lives and the environment. In the countryside, action on the national agrarian reform policy and the demarcation of indigenous and quilombola territories has been paralyzed, while the regularization of large land grabs, mineral and forest exploitation has been allowed, with a consequent increase in violence against peasants, quilombolas and indigenous peoples. This period was also marked by great resistance, especially from women, with the development of important struggles. With the Covid-19 pandemic, the economic and social crisis worsened along with the health crisis, and the resistance processes of organizations and social movements had to be reinvented. This has made us realize that the need for resistance is daily and permeates the actions of care carried out by women, which range from the backyard to the production of lunch boxes. The aim of this article is to understand the above process through documents produced by the MST in the context of the Landless Women’s Campaign: Against Viruses and Violence. |
