description The aim of this research is to examine the prevalence and incidence of hypertension and related cardiovascular complications, such as acute myocardial infarction and stroke, among the adult population of Kharkiv during the armed conflict in 2022–2023, and to assess their impact on cardiovascular health. Materials and methods. The study relied on data from the Information and Analytical Center for Medical Statistics, focusing on incidence rates of hypertension, acute myocardial infarction, and stroke among the population of Kharkiv from 2021 to 2023. The analysis was carried out using standardized epidemiological methods and uniform diagnostic criteria. Results. The analysis of hypertension prevalence rates per 100,000 population in Kharkiv for 2022 and 2023 revealed an overall increase of 9.5%, with a 9.9% rise among men and a 9.25% rise among women. Furthermore, the incidence of hypertension (per 100,000 adult population) increased by 25.3% overall during the same period, with a significant 47.4% increase among men and a 13.5% increase among women. The analysis of acute myocardial infarction incidence per 100,000 adult population in Kharkiv for 2022 and 2023 showed an increase of 20.4% in 2023. When comparing data between men and women, it was found that the incidence of acute myocardial infarction (per 100,000 adult population) in Kharkiv increased by 26.7% among men and by 11.8% among women. Similarly, the incidence of stroke per 100,000 adult population increased by 13.9% overall between 2022 and 2023. When analyzing stroke incidence per 100,000 adult population in Kharkiv for 2022 and 2023, an increase of 21.8% was observed among men and 5.6% among women. Thus, under the conditions of armed conflict, the prevalence of arterial hypertension (AH) has increased, with a notably higher rise observed among men. In addition, there has been a marked increase in the incidence of cardiovascular complications, particularly acute myocardial infarction and stroke.
