| description | Las obras de regulación del río Segura, tienen una importancia indiscutible en el control de las inundaciones de su Vega. A pesar de, esta infraestructura, no han podido ser evitadas totalmente, ni parece que esto pueda lograrse definitivamente por las propias características de índole diversa del territorio. La imposibilidad de regular todos los pequeños cursos que afluyen a la Vega es lo que, tras precipitaciones de fuerte intensidad horaria, ha provocado las últimas inundaciones de la Región de Murcia. Es el caso de la Rambla del Garruchal y de Los Romos, que con áreas vertientes de 43'2 y 32 km2 respectivamente, se convirtieron en torrentes capaces de inundar una extensa área de Ia'Huerta de Murcia en noviembre de 1987. |
