Description
Summary:This study discusses the formation of skills aimed at solving problem situations in the field of Mathematical Modeling, proposed in tasks for Mathematics undergraduates at the Federal University of Amazonas. The aim of this article is to present the analysis of the contributions of the Mathematical Modeling Student Problem Situation Activity (MM SPSA), based on the Historical-Cultural Theory from the perspective of Galperin, Talízina and Majmutov, developed with the undergraduates to the formation of the skills required in Mathematical Modeling. The research is qualitative, using the following tools to gather information: diagnostic tests, observation and questionnaires. From the analyses, it was possible to see that the MM SPSA enabled a positive advance in the development of the students' abilities to formulate the student's problem, build the conceptual and procedural core, solve the student's problem and analyze the solution when solving Mathematical Modeling tasks.
