Summary:On the foundation of principle and method of face gear machining,the relative position between tool and gear is analyzed and process coordinates are established.According to the differential geometry and meshing theory,the equation of theoretical tooth surface is established.The calculation formula of theoretical coordinates and normal vector of points and the alignment method of pitch measure base circle are given.The actual measurement of the manufactured face gear is carried out by the measuring program based on the Hexagon GLOBAL STATUS575 coordinate measuring machine,and the deviations are obtained after measuring the surface along normal direction and making compensation for the measuring data.
