Description
Summary:Abstract Cybersecurity incidents increasingly threaten not only individuals and private organisations but also the sovereignty of national states. The protection of countries’ cyberspace is becoming one of the top priorities, and measures to protect and control this environment are being sought after and gradually implemented by the state’s security forces. A measure with the potential to protect national cyberspace from harmful content contained within it is the blocking of harmful content by the competent state authorities. This paper provides a case-study analysis of the implementation of a content-blocking mechanism in one of the countries implementing this method in practice—the Slovak Republic. The objective of this paper is to critically assess this instrument and the shortcomings of its regulation, as well as to evaluate its technical implementation in practice.
