Influence of hemodiafiltration and high-flux hemodialysis on vascular calcification of patients with uremia

Objective To explore the influence of hemodiafiltration and high-flux hemodialysis on vascular calcification of patients with uremia. Methods 108 patients with uremia undergoing maintenance hemodialysis in Mianyang No.404 th Hospital of Sichuan from May 2015 to April 2016 were selected as the study o...

description Objective To explore the influence of hemodiafiltration and high-flux hemodialysis on vascular calcification of patients with uremia. Methods 108 patients with uremia undergoing maintenance hemodialysis in Mianyang No.404 th Hospital of Sichuan from May 2015 to April 2016 were selected as the study objects, and divided into control group(n=54)and treatment group(n=54)randomly.The control group was given high-flux hemodialysis, and the treatment group was given hemodiafiltration. The changes in fetuin A(FA),procalcitonin(PCT),high sensitive C reactive protein(hs-CRP),serum calcium, serum phosphorus, serum interleukin 1β(IL-1β),serum creatinine(SCr),blood urea nitrogen(BUN)levels and vascular calcification grade were compared before and after dialysis in the two groups. Results As compared with those before dialysis,FA in the treatment group and the control group increased after 6months of dialysis, while hs-CRP,P,IL-1,SCr and BUN decreased, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).After 6months of dialysis,FA was significantly higher, while hs-CRP,P and IL-1levels were significantly lower in the observation group than those in the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in SCr and BUN levels between the treatment group and the control group(P>0.05).There were 15cases(27.78%)of calcification grade 0,1case(1.85%)of grade4,and 1case(1.85%)of grade 5in the treatment group, which was significantly different from those in the control group[3cases(5.56%),8cases(14.81%)and 9cases(16.67%)respectively](P<0.05).Conclusions Hemodiafiltration can effectively improve FA and microinflammatory state of patients with uremia, reduce the incidence of vascular calcification and vascular calcification degree, promote the recovery of patients and improve quality of life.It is of clinical significance.
