Description
Summary:Lichen myxedematosus (LM) or papular mucinoses is an uncommon, chronic, idiopathic condition that involves lichenoid papules, plaques, or nodules due to mucin deposition and variable fibrosis in the dermis. It has two subsets: (1) Generalized papular and sclerodermoid form (scleromyxoedema of Arndt-Gottron’s) and (2) Localized papular form. Discrete papular LM (DPLM) belongs to the localized papular form. Only 12 cases of DPLM have been reported so far in the literature, without association with human immunodeficiency virus infection. We report a case of discrete papular localized lichen myxedematosus in a 17-year-old male with spontaneous resolution of all lesions within 6 months of presentation.
