Presented in the article aremain current tourist industry development tendencies particularly important to be taken into account by tourist operators while building season tourist direction packages. Tourist direction competitiveness notion is discussed along with a system of its evaluation on the basis of both thetourist direction competitiveness index and the index of potential. Factors that influence consumers’ choice of tourist directions are indicated.
