description The incidence of hemorrhoids is relatively high, and traditional surgical methods for hemorrhoids have disadvantages such as significant postoperative pain, high complication rates, decreased quality of life for patients, and prolonged recovery time. The pursuit of effective and complication-free treatment methods for hemorrhoids has been a continuous effort for colorectal surgeons both domestically and internationally. With the development of medical technology, minimally invasive ablation techniques have gained recognized value in the treatment of hemorrhoids. The theory of"anal cushion" for hemorrhoids is increasingly recognized by industry insiders, and non-ablative laser, radiofrequency, and chemical ablation therapies have sparked a new wave in the domestic and international colorectal community in recent years. This article searched for recent literature reports in the domestic and international on the application of laser hemorrhoidoplasty procedure (LHP), modified Doppler-guided hemorrhoids laser procedure (HeLP), radiofrequency ablation (RFA), radiofrequency thermocoagulation (RFT), traditional Chinese medicine preparations, and western medicine sclerosing agents in the treatment of hemorrhoids. It summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of different application techniques, providing a reference for clinicians to select appropriate surgical treatment options for hemorrhoids.
