Optimization of a honey dehydration system using a Grey-based Taguchi method

The main focus of this work is to find the optimized set of operational parameters of an existing honey dehydration using a heat pump system integrated with a drying tower. The investigated operational parameters are the drying agent temperature, the speed of the fan circulating the drying agent, an...

description The main focus of this work is to find the optimized set of operational parameters of an existing honey dehydration using a heat pump system integrated with a drying tower. The investigated operational parameters are the drying agent temperature, the speed of the fan circulating the drying agent, and the number of drying tower sections. The study employs a Grey-based Taguchi method to address multi-response optimization challenges. Optimal operating conditions are identified with the target of minimizing energy consumption and maintaining honey quality, in terms of honey’s temperature and moisture content.
