Description
Summary:Enterprises in the chemical, metallurgical, petroleum and energy industries consume great amounts of water. Organizing of closed and drainless water supply systems enables to diminish expenses. However, the operation of such systems shows that their efficiency is reduced due to mineral deposits and corrosion. One of the methods that solves the problem and is used in domestic and foreign practice is the treatment of water used as a refrigerant, coolant or hydraulic transport, with reagents that prevent formation of mineral deposits and metal. These reagents include organic phosphonates (OPs) and their complexons. Nowadays stringent requirements for the inhibitors’ content in discharged wastewater require reagents that provide the greatest efficiency in inhibiting scale deposits and storage at minimum concentrations, and also do not contain active metals (Cu, Zn) and have low toxicity.
